SPACE INSIGHT CONSULTANT TO PRESENT PAPER AT 24TH IADC MEETING [MARCH 2006]

Phil Herridge of Space Insight Limited, as part of the British National Space Centre (BNSC) delegation representing the United Kingdom, will present a paper to the Measurements Working Group of the Inter-Agency Space Debris Co-ordination Committee at the IADC’s 24th meeting, April 2006, Tsukuba, Japan.

James Dick, also of Space Insight, has attended the IADC as a member of the BNSC-led delegation on a number of occasions since 1997, and is currently chairman of the Measurements Working Group of the Inter-Agency Space Debris Co-ordination Committee.

The IADC is an international governmental forum for the worldwide co-ordination of activities related to the issues of man-made and natural debris in space. It was formed by the European Space Agency (ESA) during the 1990s in response to the growing threat of space debris to space exploration and use. The IADC comprises a Steering Group and four Working Groups. The Measurements Working Group addresses issues of assessment of man-made and natural space debris in terms of dimensions, population size, and orbit distribution.
